Joseph P. Keithley Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer
Joseph P. Keithley is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Keithley Instruments, Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Keithley has served as the company's Chairman since February, 1991, and President and CEO since November, 1993.
Keithley graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1971, and a Master of Operations Research and Industrial Engineering in 1972. He received a Master of Business Administration with distinction from the University of Michigan in 1976.
Upon graduation from Cornell, Keithley joined Eaton Corporation, where he worked as a manufacturing engineer and later as a market research analyst in the Truck Component Group.
Since joining Keithley Instruments in 1976, Joseph P. Keithley has held various positions in manufacturing, sales, marketing, and division management.
Keithley is a member of the Board of Trustees of Case Western Reserve University and the visiting committee of the Case School of Engineering. He also serves on the advisory council of Cornell University's School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is a NorTech board member and Vice Chairman of the Board, chairing the electronics cluster and OhioICE initiative. He is a member of the Ohio Aerospace Council (advocacy and strategy council for NASA Glenn) and is a director of The Cleveland Foundation.
Keithley is a director of Brush Engineered Materials and Nordson Corporation and is an advisor to Early Stage Partners.
Stephen A. Chipchase Vice President, Operations
Stephen A. Chipchase is Vice President, Operations, for Keithley Instruments, Inc. Chipchase joined Keithley in April 2000 as Materials/Logistics Manager and held various positions in operations, including Cell Manager, Acting Director of Operations, and most recently Director of Operations. Chipchase graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering , and earned a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University.
Philip R. Etsler Vice President, Human Resources
Philip R. Etsler is Vice President of Human Resources for Keithley Instruments, Inc. Prior to joining Keithley in 1986, Etsler served as Director of Personnel for Harris Corporation, a $2.5 billion communications and information handling company in Melbourne, Florida. While at Harris, Etsler also headed human resources for the company's Analog Division and Government Systems Group.
Etsler earned Bachelor's degrees in Economics and English from New York University and a Master of Business Administration from the State University of New York in Buffalo, New York. His professional career includes working as a recruiter for Chase Manhattan Bank and in management development and training for Xerox.
Etsler is a member of the Society for Human Resource Managers (SHRM) and the Human Resource Planning Society (HRPS).
Mark A. Hoersten Vice President, Business Management
Mark Hoersten is Vice President, Business Management, for Keithley Instruments, Inc. Hoersten, who joined Keithley as a design engineer in 1980, has held several positions at Keithley, including Engineering Manager, Product Market Manager, Strategic Marketing Manager, Business Manager for the Telecom Group, and General Manager.
Hoersten graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University and received his Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University.
Hoersten is a registered professional engineer.
Larry L. Pendergrass Vice President, New Product Development
Larry L. Pendergrass joined Keithley Instruments, Inc. in 2003 as Vice President, New Product Development. Prior to joining Keithley, he had over 20 years experience in research and development, product development, and manufacturing engineering with Agilent Technologies and Hewlett-Packard.
Pendergrass received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from San Diego State University and a Master's degree in Physics with a focus on Solid State Physics and Optics from the University of California.
Mark J. Plush Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mark J. Plush is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Keithley Instruments, Inc. Plush joined Keithley in 1982 as Corporate Controller, was named a corporate officer in 1989, and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 1998. Prior to joining Keithley, Plush completed an 11-year career with Parker Hannifin Corporation.
Plush earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, and a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He is also a certified public accountant.
Plush is Treasurer for the Ohio chapter of the March of Dimes, with which he has been actively involved since 1993, and a member of the Board of Directors of Richmond Heights Hospital, part of the University Hospitals Health System. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Financial Executive Institute, and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Linda C. Rae Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Linda Rae is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Keithley Instruments, Inc. Rae joined Keithley in 1995 with a position in product marketing and later served as head of Keithley's Component Test Group, as well as the company's Optoelectronics Group, and most recently was the company's Senior Vice President and General Manager.
Rae earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida. In addition, she holds a Master of Business Administration from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
Rae is a former member of the Weatherhead School of Management Alumni Association Board of Directors. As part of Keithley work teams, Rae has received two EDI (NorTech) awards and an internal Keithley QSII (Quality-Service-Innovation-Integrity) award for innovation.
Suzanne Schulze Taylor Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer
Suzanne Schulze Taylor is Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, at Keithley Instruments, Inc. Prior to joining Keithley in 2007, Taylor held the position of Assistant General Counsel at Platinum Equity, LLC. Taylor has more than 13 years of experience at public and private companies serving in various counsel capacities following five years of private practice at the law firm Jones Day. Taylor has a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and her B.A. is from Williams College with a major in Psychology.
